Techno 2 Class
Equipment - Techno 2 148L boards which racers rent from the organizers.
Restrictions - Only Techno 2 148L boards may be used. Racers may provide their own equipment. Racers may only use 3 sails throughout the event.
Race Details
Equipment - Racers in Open class may use any equipment they choose.
Restrictions - Racers may only use one board for the duration of the event, with the exception being if the board they are using is damaged beyond immediate repair. Racers may only use 3 sails in the event. Sails must carry all Highland Spring HIHO sponsor logos.
Race lengths - races will be between 4 and 25 miles (8-48km), though organizers reserve the option to run races of any length.
Starts & finishes - On-water starts. Races will terminate on the beach. Beach finishes mean you sail to the beach and run to touch a flag. Organizers may also employ boat on-water finishes behind a boat.
Courses - Some windward work; mostly reaches. Please note that we sail amongst reefs and there may be fin damage.
Sponsorship - There are no restrictions on sponsorship. Racers bringing their own sails will have to position the Highland Spring and Red Stripe sponsor logos (and any other sponsor logos we confirm) on their sails and always compete wearing the event race jersey.
